Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra with Lyrics Video and Acoustic Remix

I don’t know why but every time I end up REALLY liking a song, I play it over and over and over and over…. again.

Right now, I got this very dark song stuck in my head.

Below is the music video / film clip for the Gotye song “Somebody That I Used To Know” featuring Kimbra from the Gotye album Making Mirrors.

On a scale of one to Adele for his breakup, I’d say Gotye’s s pretty close to Setting Fire to the Rain.

Australian singer Gotye has become an international sensation with his haunting song, “Someone that I Used to Know.” He makes his KCRW debut with a live set of soaring art-pop songs. Watch / Listen to the full session here:

Oh and check out this REALLY good acoustic rendition / cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Pentatonix below:

Somebody That I Used To Know lyrics

Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it’s an ache I still remember

You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I’ll admit that I was glad that it was over

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know

Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I’d done
And I don’t wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn’t catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know…

But you didn’t have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know

I used to know
That I used to know

Somebody…

Forever Young SkateBoarding Video & Lyrics

My past couple of posts about staying young a LIVING got me thinking of this song, Forever Young.

Gotta love the old school skating video too!

Here’s the lyrics to it.

FOREVER YOUNG

Let’s dance in style let’s dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we’re only watching the skies,
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst,
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?

Let us die on let us live forever,
Don’t have the power but we never say never,
Sitting in the sandpit life is a short trip,
Music’s for the sad man

Can you imagine when this race is run,
Turning up our faces into the sun,
Praising our leaders getting in tune,
Music’s played by the mad man

Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever forever,
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever

Some are like water Some are like the heat,
Some are melodies Some are the beat,
Sooner or later they’ll all be gone,
Why don’t they stay on?
It’s hard to get without a cause,
I don’t want to perish like a fading voice,
Youth is like diamonds in the sun,
And diamonds are forever,
So many adventures couldn’t happened today,
So many songs that we forgot to play,
So many dreams swimming out in the blue,
Let them come true
Forever young I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young,
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever
Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, forever…
