Spot to the bull's-eye!
I think everyone can be what they are but the problem starts when we start to push others to do what we want. Stronger will become rebels, but the other - they will break and will stay "like everybody". Each of us has come here to be individuality.
Best regards

Vince,

I was absolutely wowed by this post. I loved this line, I’m now telling you that we all need to listen to that rebel within us, if only for a moment! I agree totally.

It's so great to find someone who says "listen to the inner rebel." I've always been a rebel, especially when dealing with unfairness or injustice in any form. With my family, I paid the price of not quite fitting in, but in the long run...I'm glad I listened to that inner rebel because she showed me new ideas and opportunities I wouldn't have seen if I had just followed the crowd. Thanks :~)

not all parents are traditionalists. actually it depends on the culture you are brought up with. usually, the chinese are traditionalists. they stick to their own kind and their own ways. they beleive in certain things that are correct "just beacuse" or "because ancenstors have been following the same rules/ beliefs/ what have they..." do not feel bad that you cannot "get away" from it. they're traditionalists because of certain reasons. they feel safe with it. on the other hand, i think it's unfair. kids may feel DEPRIVED. ha ha!
