"How to Train Your Dragon" 3D Movie Review, Trailer and Info

I just found out about this organization,  the Junior Achievement of the Philippines Inc. (JAPI), as I was asked by my friends, at Ex-Link Events to speak and host their awards night.

It’s a cool organization that helps college kids to get  a feel for the corporate business world. I was thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism and drive that the college students had.

See each college / university has it’s own chapter of the Junior Achievement of the Philippines Inc. (JAPI). Each chapter represents a company that the students need to run and manages just like a regular corporation. They have products to sell, campaigns to market, customers to satisfy and deadlines to meet. At the end of every year, they all come together for an annual toast and awards ceremony to honor the stand-outs of each university.

JAPI IN A NUTSHELL

Junior Achievement is a singular achievement of a unique youth development program for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and business leaders.
In JA, you “learn business by doing business”.

JA is a practical economic education program
Organized and manage your own small scale business
Guided by adult advisers/consultants from the business community

You can find out more about JAPI on their website http://japionline.org

It sort of reminds me of my business organization from my own alma mater San Diego State University (SDSU). I was the President of the premier international co-ed business fraternity – Alpha Kappa Psi. This decision of mine to join an organization that promoted growth, professionalism and leadership was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Not just because of all that professional mumbo jumbo, but also because I met like minded individuals whom I know now as my best friends.

Just thought I’d share some thoughts on this in case anyone still in school is reading. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you find and join an organization that is in tune with your own personal ideals. Whatever it may be, just get involved. Join an glee club if you like singing, join a cosplay club if you like anime, join a dance club if you like dancing, join a drama club if you like acting. Whatever it is you like, find others who enjoy it to and surround yourself with people who will accept you for who you are and push you to greater heights within that realm.

Just my two cents. AKPsi for life!
